Reflections on the water can make even a dull scene come to life. Such was the case at Canandaigua Lake, New York. We walked the town’s small marina, which was rather quiet for a Saturday. Most boats seemed to already be closed up for the season even though it was the end of September.
When I looked back after reaching the end of the pier, the various colors and patterns of these boathouses caught my eye. “Boathouse Row” is my Photo of the Week.
Writer, marketer, columnist, author, photographer, birder, walker, hiker, husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, township trustee, converted Anabaptist, community activist, my life is crammed with all things people and nature and wonder. My late father gave me this penchant for giving and getting the most out of life, my late mother the courtesy, kindness, and creativity to see the joy in life. They both taught me to cherish the people I am with. I try and fail and try again.

This reminds me or Tangier Island in the Chesapeake Bay. You would have a hey day capturing images. Perhaps put that on your list of places to visit while retiring in Virginia! Well worth a day trip or even overnight, just not in hurricane season. I’ll share my link from our visit last year: https://findingharmonyblog.com/2017/08/15/slices-of-life-on-tangier-island/

Thanks, Melodie. We’ll have to visit there soon. It’s the VA island that is sinking due to rising seas.
