Sorry to creep you out, but this photo is not what it appears. This is not a corpse. It is a photo that my wife took of me as I was wheeled into my hospital room only three housrs after knee replacement surgery.
The reason I am all bundled up in blankets was that the room was freezing. Apparently, housekeeping had turned down the air conditioning temperature to 50 degrees Fahrenheit and forgot to reset the thermostat when they left. The kind nurses gathered pre-heated blankets to warm me up. Since the anesthesia still had its effect on me, I was mostly out of it when Neva snapped this photo.
“Happy Halloween!” is my Photo of the Week.

I had my right knee replaced two months ago. I had just come out of recovery when my wife took the photo.

Is corpse misspelled? That is how I spell it. Don’t you hate freezing hospital rooms? But 50 degrees, acccchhhh! Ridiculous. They owe you a discount! Congrats to Neva for her picture of the week.
I need to go back and reread your piece on the World Series game you went to. Yay Nats! (I’m a johnny-come-lately to enjoying the sport, thanks to my grandsons who are only in T-ball.)

Yes, indeed, Melodie! Thanks for catching that. I corrected it. That freezing room was the only glitch in the entire process. Everyone was great, and I am very fortunate to have excellent insurance. I paid only a fraction of the total bill. Thanks, again, editor.

Hope your knee is feeling good as new. Those warm blankets can be very cozy … I’ve even pretended to still be sleeping just so I can enjoy them a little longer!
